They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding Glasgow team. You will be expected to run your own projects, working through the RIBA stages as well as working as part of a larger team. The office has a relaxed, flexible culture and regular social events take place.

Your new role

You'll play a key part in the Mechanical Design team and will have the opportunity to lead projects and mentor junior team members. Your key responsibilities will include :

• Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
• Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems.
• Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools including Hevacomp, IES, HAP, AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, etc.
• Preparing technical specifications.
• Collaborating with the BIM team to prepare models and drawings.
• Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
• Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring site works.
• Report and technical note writing.
• Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
• Adhering to all quality, environmental & governance processes.
• Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations.
• Managing elements of project delivery and understanding budget costings.
• Reviewing progress, including reporting any anomalies and changes of scope to the project lead.
• Assisting with the technical development of junior staff.
