Software Engineer - Java

Our client, a growing technology consultancy supporting public sector transformation, is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their collaborative and high-impact team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a major national programme by developing and integrating secure software systems used across government and defence. This role will require 1-2 days per week onsite in Milton Keynes, with the remainder remote.

Responsibilities :

• Design, build and test complex full-stack applications using Java and React
• Develop secure software solutions, integrating open-source and proprietary technologies
• Contribute to API design and system architecture for private cloud and air-gapped environments
• Work closely with end-users, solution architects and academic partners to deliver user-focused systems
• Implement DevOps practices including containerisation (Docker) and CI / CD pipelines
• Support software deployments in both internal and client environments
• Produce well-documented, testable code and maintain strong configuration control
