Role- Mechanical Design Engineer

Salaryper annum (dependent on experience)

Type- Permanent

Location- Glasgow

My client is a specialist manufacturer of large metalwork and machinery. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Glasgow on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes :

• Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• At least 3 years experience in a similar Design / Mechanical Engineering position
• Excellent proficiency with CAD software ideally Inventor and AutoCAD
• Experience in a heavy technical engineering industry would be ideal
• Knowledge of machinery design & metal fabrication design
• Proven ability to drive Engineering development
• Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
• Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials sheet metal castings machining etc.
• The ability to understand system requirements
• Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
