Plant Shift Leader

Location : Fawley, Southampton (Commutable from Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Salisbury, Winchester)

Salary : £72,488 per annum (£60,119 basic + £12,369 shift allowance)

Contract : Permanent, Full-Time

Shifts Pattern : 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights, 07 : 00-19 : 00 & 19 : 00-07 : 00) - 12 days off every 6-week cycle

Role Overview : Pertemps is seeking a Plant Shift Manager to join our client at their Fawley facility. This leadership role involves guiding a dedicated team, fostering a positive work environment, and advancing your career within a globally-respected, inclusive organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Leadership : Promote a safe environment by managing Permits to Work and safety standards
  • Operational Improvement : Analyze production reports and implement growth initiatives
  • Equipment Maintenance : Conduct inspections, diagnose faults, coordinate repairs
  • Leadership During Operations : Make decisions during abnormal conditions, ensure team safety
  • Stakeholder Communication : Liaise with the central operations centre for supply and service
  • Team Development : Coach shift team members to support their growth
  • Candidate Requirements

  • Background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, with an apprenticeship route preferred
  • Relevant industrial or plant-based qualification
  • Experience in a 24-hour operational environment, ideally in chemical or petrochemical sectors
  • Proven leadership skills in operational support and planning
