Generator Technician

Generator Technician, Ipswich Monday-Friday 08 : 30-17 : 00 £38,000-£47,000 DOE + company van + bonus. Overtime available. We are seeking an experienced Generator Technician to join a busy diesel generator and transmissions division specialising in the service, maintenance and repair of diesel generators and associated equipment. Our client, a leading multi-disciplined engineering business offer ongoing support, training and development in addition to a varied and team spirited environment within this long-standing, highly regarded business. Due to the nature of this role a full UK driving licence is required. Outline of the role

• Service, maintenance and repair of diesel generators and associated equipment.
• Attend offsite breakdowns.
• Fault finding and diagnosis.
• Load bank testing.
• Provide 24-hour emergency cover on call-out rota (1 week in 5)
• Assist in the installation of diesel generators. Experience and skills required
• Experienced in electrical or mechanical engineering with supporting qualifications / experience.
• Approved electrician (18th edition) – advantageous.
• Knowledge of common generator control systems.
• Adapt to changing workload and be flexible to suit department needs.
• Organised, self-motivated and a team player.
• Basic level of IT proficiency.
