Your Impact
Our Engineering teams are vital to the success of our existing and emerging systems platforms. As part of this team you will be able to develop new products and digital services as well as enhancements to existing ones that deliver on our customers experience. You will be asked to share innovative ideas that contribute to our culture of continuous improvement and focus on customer needs.
Most of your time will be spent designing high-quality software solutions to enable digital customer services based on established design standards. You can expect to be the owner and take accountability for the quality of your designs. You will become familiar with the markets we operate in and problems our products and services address. You will learn about the challenges and limitations of the existing systems and demonstrate your creativity and design aptitudes as you contribute to technology and system platforms roadmaps.
Responsibilities include mentoring entry level Hardware and Software Engineering Associates creating and reviewing commercial and technical requirements developing architecture and coding in a variety of programming languages for an enterprise product suite which runs on multiple media platforms. Proven technical leadership and self-motivation is required.
Heres where youll demonstrate your proficiencies :
Collaborate with Product Managers and Sales team members to develop commercial and technical requirements for software applications and middleware used to deliver services to electric grid customers
Lead architecture development with a team of system architects to develop high value solutions which delight customers consistent with the Qualitrol brand
Create code that meets Qualitrol coding standards commercial specifications and is easy to maintain.
Develop automated test plans for unit and integration tests to ensure that features work per defined use cases
Ensure that all designs are documented and reviewed
Use the latest technologies such as code generation SW containers to reduce implementation time and enhance software portability AI for data analytics etc.
Mentor entry level firmware developers on engineering and company best practices
Create product using a test-driven design approach
Qualifications - External
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience :
Bachelors Degree / Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field
5 years of professional product development experience
Clear understanding of software development practices and lifecycles
Have expertise in the following : C C# C Java HTML CSS SQL
Have experience with generic messaging .NET Framework 3.5 and the latest MS Visual Studio tools
Strong knowledge of Object Oriented concepts
Knowledge of database management systems
Knowledge of service oriented architectures including microservices architecture
Are an independent and motivated self-starter
Are visionary with focus on details at the same time
Work well within teams or individually
Preferred skills / experience :
Experience with industry best practices
Agile development methodologies
Experience in building scalable enterprise solutions
