Job Summary

Are you a registered nurse looking for a new challenge and a chance to learn new skills? If so, the Surgical Hub at Dewsbury and District Hospital could be the perfect place for you! Our brand-new Surgical, Diagnostic and Treatment Hub offers : 2 theatres for day case operations under general anaesthetic 4 treatment rooms for minor procedures under local anaesthetic 10 outpatient clinic rooms for assessment and diagnosis The hub focuses on high-volume, low-complexity procedures in the following specialities : Plastics, OMFS, Gynaecology, Pain Management, Urology, Colorectal, General Surgery, and Upper GI. This new elective care hub brings many benefits to both patients and staff, including better access to services, improved patient experience, and more opportunities for staff wellbeing, training and development. Were now recruiting part-time Band 5 Registered Nurses (0.95 WTE / 35.5 hours per week) on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. Youll join a supportive and specialist team committed to delivering excellent patient care. Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will need to be participate in the development and delivery of a of a brand service working with a new team. They must demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, adapt to change and new ways of working. Candidates must have the ability to relate to all staff and patients in a confident manner, demonstrate good listening skills and be able to work effectively as part of team. They must be able to create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships. Candidates must be committed to embedding the trust values to create a positive culture in the working environment. The successful candidate must maintaining an awareness of national and regional initiatives, such as getting it right first time, they must have an understanding of working under pressure, which high volume low complexity patients, and be able to prioritise patient flow through the department without compromising patient safety. Successful candidates will be expected to undertake individual performance reviews as part of their own learning and development needs and to ensure the needs of the service and personal development needs are being met. The successful candidates will be expected to be flexible, and work within all areas of the surgical hub after training has been provided, including; admissions, outpatient clinics, major treatment rooms, recovery and discharge.
