Job description

Responsibilities

of role

  • Leadership and Direction Support in directing the Actuarial Function and leading the Actuarial team. Provide actuarial support across reserving, pricing, and other corporate areas for the insurers.
  • Technical Delivery Ensure full understanding of methodologies, assumptions, and data quality. Maintain adherence to model and dataernance frameworks.
  • Regulatory and Financial Reporting Deliver actuarial aspects of Solvency UK (SUK) and Isle of Man Risk Based Capital (RBC) reporting. Produce quarterly and annual actuarial function reports and capital MI. Maintain all relevant SUK and RBC documentation.
  • Modelling and Investigations Maintain internal capabilities for assumption setting and stress testing. Conduct investigations and rmend valuation bases. Enhance Prophet and other modelling tools for SUK / RBC reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Provide actuarial information to Finance and Risk Management teams. Manage external audit and peer review queries. Support broader business needs with actuarial expertise.
  • Maintain actuarial controls and processes. Adhere to Actuarial Guidance from the Financial Reporting Council.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who meets the following criteria :

  • Holds an internationally recognised actuarial qualification
  • Educated to degree level, preferably in a numerate discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of solid life Insurance experience
  • Deep knowledge of SUK and its application in a life insurance context
  • Strong experience in valuation and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated actuarial modelling expertise (ideally with Prophet)
  • In-depth understanding of investment and insurance products
  • Familiarity with Transact and the wider investment platform market
  • Strong intellect and analytical ability
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and conscientious, with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal andmunication skills, both written and verbal
  • Previous people management experience is advantageous but not essential.
