Job Overview

As a Fitter / Fabricator within BES, you will be working from our site in Bower and on other site works locations around Caithness, supporting our growing business in the Nuclear Decommissioning, Construction and Renewable Energy sectors. You will be responsible for providing fitting and fabricating support to our various projects.

Job Title : Fitter / Fabricator

Salary : from £21.50 per hour

Contract Type : Full Time Employed (Permanent)

Benefits : Company Pension | 30 Days Annual Leave Allowance | Flexible Bank Holidays | Half-Day Fridays | On-Job Training and Development

Hours : Monday - Thursday, 7.30am to 4.45pm, Friday, 7.30am to 12.30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide fitting and fabricating support to projects
  • To work in a mechanical workshop environment or on a site works location
  • Maintenance on a wide range of equipment and plant
  • Read engineering drawings and produce fabrications to a high standard of finish on own initiative
  • Product and equipment prototyping
  • To ensure safe working practices at all times
  • Work within an ISO Quality Management System

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • Must have completed a relevant Engineering Apprenticeship or have a good number of years' experience in a similar role
  • Site works experience is beneficial
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must have good written and spoken communication skills
  • Must be well organised and work well under pressure
  • Previous pipe fitting experience is a bonus
  • Previous experience in the Nuclear Decommissioning sector is an advantage
