Environmental Assistant

Our client is looking for an Environmental Services Assistant to respond to environmental problems, including illegally dumped commercial and household garbage, filthy and verminous premises, animal carcasses, and undertake clearance and cleaning as required.

Purpose of role :

• To complete basic written records and weekly timesheets.
• Ability to follow written instructions.
• Carrying out organised visits and revisits to maximise section efficiency.
• Handling payments, including cash, following correct financial procedures.
• Assist officers in drainage investigations and remedial work, including sealing drains.
• Respond to environmental issues, including clearance of contaminated articles and premises.
• Collection, loading, and disposal of condemned foodstuffs.
• Clearance, cleaning, and disinfection of contaminated areas, including vacant and occupied properties.
• Complete records and job cards to a satisfactory standard.
• Inspect and maintain equipment according to procedures and instructions.
• Drive client vehicles, perform routine vehicle checks, and refuel as needed.
• Undertake depot work, including cleaning and disinfection.
• Adhere to client policies and procedures, including health and safety, equal opportunities, and safeguarding.
• Perform any other relevant duties as required.

Working hours :

Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, on a 37-hour week contract.
