Compassionate SEN teaching assistant, enhancing educational outcomes for all students

SEN Teaching Assistant

Location : Shrewsbury

Duration : Full time, on going

Salary : £95 – £105 per day

The School / role :

We are looking for a full time TA to start with us for a 1 : 1 child on a long-term supply basis.This supportive school is a happy, thriving school that is proud to be part of our local community.

Key Duties :

  • Constant Supervision : Provide vigilant supervision to ensure the safety of the child and others, particularly in managing disruptive behaviour.
  • Building Trusting Relationships : Foster a trusting relationship with the student to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Sensory Room Assistance : Facilitate the student’s engagement in the sensory room to enhance their learning experience.
  • Outdoor Activities : Organize and facilitate opportunities for the student to run around outside each day, promoting physical activity and well-being.

    Requirements :

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
  • PECS and Makaton training / experience
  • PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD and Complex needs experience
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school based references
  • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS – on the update service
