Position :

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rotational Physiotherapist based at University Hospital Ayr .

What you will do :

The opportunity has arisen for graduates or existing B5 Physiotherapists, to join an extensive rotational scheme for physiotherapists throughout NHS Ayrshire & Arran. The rotation provides opportunities to gain experience in a broad range of acute hospitals, intermediate care, out-patients, community hospital, and domiciliary settings across the Southwest of Scotland. The successful post-holder will be required to rotate to a number of locations across Ayrshire in rotations of 6 months duration. Rotations include : Care of Elderly; Medical / Unscheduled Care; Surgical; Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics; Women’s Health / Obstetrics and Pelvic health; Community Rehabilitation / Domiciliary; Musculoskeletal; Rehabilitation; Mental Health; Learning Difficulties; Paediatrics; Stroke; Integrated Care Team These posts will hold an out of hours and weekend commitment. Prior to commencing on the out of hours service you will receive tailored training and support to meet your needs.

This service is committed to the development of staff; applicants will be supported to complete the flying start programme as part of their CPD activity in their first year - post graduation and will be involved with clinical supervision. NHS Ayrshire and Arran Physiotherapy team covers the South West of Scotland on the Firth of the Clyde, serving a region from Ballantrae in the South to Wemyss Bay in the North. Ayrshire boasts 80 miles of coastline, picturesque beaches, rolling green hills and islands, and provides access to a large range of outdoor pursuits including watersports, cycling and hill walking. There are excellent transport links with Glasgow.

Unsuccessful candidates who are deemed to be employable after interviee may have an opportunity to the join the Physiotherapy bank.

Knowledge, training and / or experience required to do the job :

Diploma / BSc / MSc Physiotherapy

  • Current Health Care Professions Council registration
  • Range of clinical experience with in the NHS setting
  • Evidence of good baseline clinical knowledge
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical reasoning
  • Provide examples of evidence based practice

Newly qualified practitioners may apply for this post and if successful would be appointed at Band 4 pending uplift to Band 5 on receiving HCPC registration.
