Our client are seeking a proactive and hands-on Environmental Advisor to join the Health, Safety and Environment (HSEQ) team, supporting a key infrastructure project in Havant. This is an exciting opportunity for an environmentally focused professional to drive sustainable practices and ensure environmental compliance across a busy and complex construction site.

The ideal candidate will be innovative, practical, and solutions-oriented, with a genuine passion for environmental protection and improvement.

  • Provide environmental advice, guidance, and training to site delivery teams to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Implement and improve environmental management systems, procedures, and best practices
  • Conduct regular site inspections, monitor environmental performance, and advise
  • Ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO50001, and all relevant environmental permits
  • Monitor site energy usage, helping improve data capture and reduce carbon footprint.
  • Support initiatives to prevent pollution, including silt management and water quality sampling.
  • Lead or contribute to the design and implementation of sustainable innovations, such as renewable energy solutions for site operations.
  • Liaise with environmental consultants, regulatory bodies, and client representatives.
  • Assist with tender bids and contribute to award submissions.
  • Investigate and report on environmental incidents and near misses.
  • Conduct dust and noise monitoring, and manage ecology on site in line with legal and best practice guidelines
  • Drive company-wide environmental awareness campaigns and reduction initiatives (e.g. carbon, waste).
  • Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar environmental advisory or compliance role.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and best practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Recognised environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA Cert).
  • IRCA-accredited Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, 14001 or 45001).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA, IOSH).
  • CSCS card and SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) certification.
