Ensure food produced is safe, legal, and wholesome in line with all legal requirements and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities :
- Manage technically the Production Site and drive quality standards to the highest level
- Maintain BRC Grade A
- for the site
- Maintain all customer Technical Approval i.e. Tesco; M&S, Waitrose, Morrison’s, ASDA and Cooperative Codes for Food Manufacture
- Build relationships with all customers to ensure satisfaction and delight from our customers
- Report any issues to Chief Operating Officer regarding the hygiene operations for the site to ensure food is produced to the safest standards without any associated risks
- Assist the management and monitor the Quality Manual and all associated policies, procedures and paperwork to achieve the company’s aims and objectives
- Develop, train, motivate and manage the technical staff to ensure the highest quality standards are met
- Write, develop and implement policies to meet all current and new EU and UK legislation
- Ensure all Technical systems are aligned between sites
- Maintain and improve sound relationships with the EHO / FSA
- Ensure all products are in line with Trading Standards requirements
- Develop HACCP systems and Risk Assessments to remove any food safety issues from the people, process, plant and product
- Assist and monitor the production and control customer specifications
- Ensure that products are produced in line with agreed customer specifications
- Management of customer complaints and reduction of complaints
- Implement all Technical KPI’s
- Carryout supplier audits and assessments for suitability of purchase
- Inspection, detection and rejection as required of all incoming goods
- Assist the management of microbiological, chemical and residue levels of product
- Assist the management of technical paperwork and quality checks of all products in line with GMP, HACCP, BRC and local EHO authority standards
- Audit sister site and vice versa
- Manage Technical budget
- Regularly review the micro testing and review the frequency of testing against the risk
