About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a thorough understanding of Investments and the ability to interrogate and understand data to join our expanding Investment Management Change Team.

This is a hands-on role and the ideal candidate will have a technical background that they are able to apply to solving business problems and the experience to lead others. They are expected to provide the analysis that will define the scope, requirements and success criteria for a variety of initiatives, primarily to support the Investment Operations function within AIML.

MS AIML is managing a large programme of change work. Candidates with the right skillset will be able to get involved in other strategic projects such as a business transformation, performance and automation across support teams.

MS Amlin is part of a global top-10 insurance group, MS&AD. We’re made up of four distinct businesses covering Global Reinsurance, Lloyds Franchise, Local Specialty Insurer, and Business Services .

This role sits within MS AIML, the regulated investment management company of the MS Amlin brand (MSA). MSA is wholly owned by the MS&AD Group. The investment clients of MS AIML include MSA companies and others in the wider MS&AD group.

What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing

Lead and mentor a team of Business Analysts, providing guidance on best practices, documentation standards, and analytical techniques.

Oversee the creation and maintenance of consistent, high-quality documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user stories, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.

Define and manage test strategies, including the creation of test plans and scripts, coordinating UAT activities, and ensuring comprehensive requirements traceability.

Collaborate with Investment Operations, Investment Management, DevOps, and Client teams to deliver changes within our governance framework.

Document the current state, propose outcomes, and design target operating models that support new platforms and processes.

Define and design simple, automated, and resilient solutions where possible.

Provide strategic input into business transformation and automation initiatives, influencing stakeholder decisions and ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.

Plan, prepare, and oversee testing, transition, and implementation phases for key initiatives.

Act as a senior point of contact for complex stakeholder engagements, supporting escalation management and resolution.

What We Need From You

Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst or equivalent leadership role within investment management or investment operations.

Strong knowledge of investment products and operations, including fixed income, derivatives, equities, and ETFs.

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, establish and maintain documentation and analysis standards, and drive continuous improvement across the BA function.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.

Strong analytical skills, particularly with IBOR (Investment Book of Record) and ABOR (Accounting Book of Record).

Solid understanding of test management, including designing test plans, scripts, and coordinating UAT.

Good knowledge of Excel and ability to query SQL Server using SSMS.

A positive, proactive approach to problem-solving, with the flexibility to work in agile environments.

Strong stakeholder management and influence skills, capable of driving alignment and securing buy-in across multiple teams.

Holiday : 28 days core annual leave, and you can buy up to 5 days

Pension : A minimum 2% employee contribution plus 7% MS Amlin contribution (9%) up to a maximum of 5% employee contribution plus 13% MS Amlin contribution (18%)
