Maintenance Manager
Glasgow Talent Media is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering company based in Glasgow to recruit an experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team. About the Job Our client provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services. Due to ongoing demand, they have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join their team in Glasgow. As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the manufacturing facility. This leadership role ensures that equipment and infrastructure operate at peak efficiency, minimises production downtime, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. The Maintenance Manager will lead a small but skilled team, working collaboratively with production and engineering to support operational goals in safety, efficiency, and reliability. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and develop the maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Plan and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and availability of equipment via deployment of a CMMS system
Ensure all plant equipment, machinery, and infrastructure are maintained in optimal operational condition
Respond promptly and effectively to equipment failures and breakdowns, minimising downtime and production disruption
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and capital projects
Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes to ensure timely availability and reduce equipment-related delays
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, documentation, and performance reports
Develop, manage, and control the maintenance departments annual budget, including labour, materials, and overhead expenses
Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and internal standards
Conduct root cause analysis of recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing or machine shop environment
Strong mechanical and electrical expertise, particularly with CNC machinery, lathes, mills, hydraulic systems, and other production equipment
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing technical team
In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards
Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
Strong organisational, planning, and communication abilities
Degree or diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline (preferred)
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or TPM (preferred)
Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, and control circuits (an asset)
