Job description

CLASS 1 DAY DRIVER

Shifts : MONDAY - FRIDAY : 6PM STARTS

PAY RATE :   £17.00 PER HOUR - OVERTIME AFTER 8 HOURS £19.00 PER HOUR

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Trafford Park . This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and ongoing work.

Day to Day Duties :

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to :

  • General Haulage Deliveries (working on curtain-side)
  • Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  • Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed

    • Essential Skills :

    As a Class 1 Driver you will need to :

  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Have a minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Hold a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills

    • Desirable Experience :

  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles
  • Previous experience with multi drop deliveries

    • Training :

  • Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
