Role details :

The nuclear defence sector in the UK is vital for maintaining national security and strategic stability. Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain the project controls plan and associated procedures.
  • Support the maintenance of the project schedule, including resource loading, critical path analysis, and progress monitoring.
  • Manage project budgets, track costs, and prepare financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and manage project risks, including the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project reporting to stakeholders, including progress updates, cost reports, and risk registers.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project controls professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure project objectives are achieved within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and procedures, including nuclear safety and security requirements.

  • Key Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in project controls in the nuclear industry, with a track record of successful project delivery
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, practices, and tools, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, and reporting
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety and security requirements and regulations
  • Experience in managing a team of project controls professionals.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in project management software and tools, including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel
  • Experience of major projects containing integrated schedules
  • Experience in managing schedules on NEC Projects
