Please note this is a hybrid role (2-3 days) based out of the Edinburgh, UK office.

You will join a high-performing team of software engineers, with the ability to work on the frontend or full stack, and taking responsibility for implementing a range of new application features, as well as improving the architecture, performance, scalability, and resilience of the existing product.

Responsibilities

Architect and lead the implementation of our frontend Angular application, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to users.

Maintain the upkeep of existing and legacy web applications, guaranteeing their continued utility and effectiveness.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather / understand requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions.

Mentor, develop, and grow team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practices.

Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and technical debt.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of our frontend development processes and tooling.

Collaborate with product management and UX / UI designers to ensure the software meets user experience requirements and business objectives.

Basic Requirements

Basic Requirements

8+ years experience in frontend or full-stack development.

3+ years experience with Angular or similar modern frontend frameworks.

Deep understanding of modern frontend architectures, including component-based design, state management and routing.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an Agile environment.

Strong communication skills with a positive attitude and ability to interact with stakeholders.

Mentorship and leadership experience or demonstrable aptitude.

Works without supervision from other members of the team. Impact on the team is strong and visible, as well impact on the product and department level.

Preferred skills and qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.

Proven experience migrating legacy applications to modern frameworks.

Experience with frontend testing frameworks e.g. Cypress, Playwright.

Experience with Java or other backend technologies.

Familiarity with UI / UX principles and best practices.

Experience with performance optimization techniques for web applications.
