Key Responsibilities :
Perform basic mechanical tasks under supervision, including underframe cleaning, assisting with incoming and outgoing testing on train cars, and installing platform steps and exterior grab handlesGeneral facility and rail car cleaningInterpret basic blueprints, schematics, and documentationVerify the quality and accuracy of completed tasks by inspecting finished work to meet required standards and specificationsUse simple measuring elements like calipers, measuring tape, and gauges to ensure accuracyCollaborate with team members to provide coaching, training, and mentorshipFollow established Standard Work Instructions and utilize basic computer skillsWork Environment :
Typically dirty, with exposure to dust, grease, and industrial by-productsWork in various conditions, including confined spaces and at heights up to 20 feetRequirements :
1-3 years of professional mechanical experience (automotive, motorcycle, aircraft, heavy equipment, etc.)Proficient with hand and power tools, and measuring instrumentsAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and documentationStrong understanding of measurements and basic math; proficiency in both standard and metric systemsExperience with data entry and basic computer skillsDetail-oriented, able to multitask, and capable of meeting deadlinesAbility to stand for long periods, twist, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbsMust be able to work in confined spaces and under rail vehicles, and work at heights up to 20 feetStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environmentBilingual in Spanish is a plusAdditional Information :
