Cloud Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Cloud Architect to lead the design, development, and management of our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with public and private cloud platforms, with a strong focus on converting and migrating workloads from public to private cloud environments. This role involves architectural planning, platform evaluation, and implementation to ensure a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient architecture that aligns with business goals.

Key Responsibilities :

• Translate Business Needs into Technical Designs :  Collaborate closely with Product Owners, architects, engineers and other stakeholders to understand complex requirements and translate them into detailed architectural diagrams, documentation, and implementation roadmaps, ready for engineers to implement.
• Design and Architect Secure Cloud Solutions :  Architect and document secure, scalable, and highly available systems across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Champion Security and Compliance :  Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud security, ensuring all architectural designs adhere to strict regulatory and compliance frameworks, including  NIST, SOC 2, and CSA / CAIQ . Actively collaborate with security and compliance teams to embed governance into the architecture.
• Lead Strategic Cloud Initiatives :  Steer key architectural decisions and lead strategic projects, such as the migration of workloads from public to private cloud, platform evaluation, and the adoption of new cloud services.
• Develop and Enforce Architectural Standards :  Establish and govern cloud architecture best practices, patterns, and policies to ensure consistency, security, and operational excellence across the organisation.
• Provide Technical Leadership and Guidance :  Mentor and guide engineering teams during the implementation phase, ensuring designs are built as specified and providing clarity on architectural principles.
