We currently have 2 exciting opportunities within Nationwide Platforms as a Technical Trainer. As a Technical Trainer, you will work with the External Training team, covering the South area.

Responsibilities include developing technical skills training for Nationwide Platforms' fleet, specifically MEWP's, Truck and Van Mounted equipment, Tracked Booms, and BlueSky products for engineers in the UK and occasionally internationally.

Frequent travel (approximately three days a week) with possible overnight stays depending on home location is involved. The role requires a flexible, adaptable, and resilient character due to the reactive nature of engineering work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be trained to teach and deliver engineering-based courses, including but not limited to :
  • Pre-Delivery / Post-Hire Inspection
  • Foundation Courses
  • Tech Electrics
  • Tech Hydraulics
  • Tech Schematics
  • Tech Engine
  • Tech Inspection
  • Advanced Fault Finding in Electrical and Hydraulic systems
  • Gain accreditation for Manufacturer Training Courses

Additional responsibilities include maintaining current courseware, delivering at least 100 training days annually (face-to-face, virtual, online), managing small training projects, planning Train the Trainer sessions, preparing risk assessments, conducting assessments, and pursuing relevant qualifications such as NVQ Assessor, CAP, or manufacturer qualifications.

Qualifications and Experience

The company will provide training for Level 3 Education and Training (PTLLS). The role involves active participation in attaining this qualification. Upon successful qualification as an IPAF Instructor, the role's seniority will increase from Band 3 to Band 4. There are strong development pathways, including apprenticeships in teaching or learning and development.

Essential experience includes a formal qualification in heavy plant and equipment maintenance, Powered Access, Fork Truck, Telehandler, Crane, or heavy vehicle repair. Skills required include excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, resilience, good organization, literacy, numeracy, and a full UK driving license.

Desirable skills include extensive Powered Access engineering experience with relevant qualifications, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience in coaching or teaching.
