Are you a qualified accountant with experience in a project-based business? Are you passionate about leading a finance team and working closely with senior management? We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

As the Finance Manager, you will manage and develop a small team of Management Accountants and ensure an efficient finance function that supports both operations and the SafeLane Group. This is a hands-on role with a focus on project accounting, financial reporting, and business partnering. You will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, preparing budgets, and ensuring the integrity of the financial systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of accountants responsible for project accounting, transaction processing, and reporting.Ownership of the Group’s project portfolio financials, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.Produce monthly management accounts, including commentary of key analysis and reconciliations.Prepare monthly consolidation of project related financial results for reporting to the CFO, CEO, and Board.Prepare cashflow forecasts and provide analysis-based recommendations.Oversee project and overhead cashflow management, including analysis of the UK business’ cashflow forecasting and liaising with the Group’s Corporate Accountant, banking partners, and managing currency requirements.Consolidation of operational budget preparation and consolidation of monthly project reports, feeding into the corporate timetable for generation of the monthly management and Board reporting packs.Coordinate the completion of monthly funding cycles, including reconciliation of field floats and communication to overseas bank accounts.Focal point for all Financial ERP issues and improvements.Primary point of contact for UK banks, ensuring operational efficiency and timely issue resolution.Support the Corporate Accountant in the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors, ensuring all Group entities produce complete and accurate statutory reporting.Ensure tax compliance and manage contractor payroll alongside the Contractor Management Team.Provide financial support to operational teams and act as a trusted business partner.Minimum Requirements :
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Strong technical accounting background and experience in a project-based businessProven experience in leading a finance team and managing staffExcellent knowledge of UK GAAP and tax regulationsProficient in IT systems, with advanced skills in Microsoft ExcelStrong communication skills, able to present financial data clearly to both finance and non-finance personnelWhy Join Us?
