Job Title : Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic prevents and corrects equipment malfunctions for all types of equipment (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic), including diagnosing complex problems while following all safety rules.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Services and oversees repairs of all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition.
  • Familiar with all phases of heavy equipment repairs.
  • Maintains a safe work environment.
  • Effectively communicates equipment issues with supervisor.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements related to company, government, and equipment policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years’ experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Trade school or technical training desirable.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Class B CDL license required.
  • Willingness to travel daily within a 150-mile radius of Bath, PA shop.
  • DOT Physical Examination (Medical card) necessary.
  • Mandatory overtime as needed.
  • High safety consciousness and understanding of equipment safety.
  • Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
