The Role

Join the team responsible for developing tests, tools, and infrastructure that ensure the quality of the software toolchain used to build every PlayStation 5 game. Collaborate with the toolchain development team to design tests and testing systems for new features, and help develop new tools and techniques to enhance product quality.

Our toolchain is based on a private fork of the open-source LLVM project, updated through automated merges. Our advanced continuous testing allows us to identify and report bugs rapidly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborating with development teams to design and implement tests for new toolchain features, ensuring quality at every stage.
  • Developing internal testing tools and frameworks to improve process efficiency.
  • Maintaining test jobs on our Jenkins CI system and optimizing test performance.
  • Analyzing test results to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Participating in code and documentation reviews to improve test coverage and code quality.

What We Are Looking For

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of software testing techniques through academic, personal, internship, or professional experience.
  • Ability to write and maintain unit and system tests; experience with testing frameworks is a plus.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python; familiarity with test automation tools is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly.
  • Collaborative mindset, effective across teams.

    • Nice to Have

  • Experience in bug triaging and testing developer tools or complex environments.
  • Knowledge of advanced testing techniques like fuzzing or sanitizers.
  • Practical experience with C++ and navigating large codebases.
