About the role :

We’re looking for a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team in Leeds. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a cloud-native environment and is passionate about automation, scalability, and reliability.

You’ll play a key role in shaping and maintaining our Azure-based infrastructure, supporting development teams, and driving DevOps best practices across the business. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor team members and influence platform strategy as we grow.

  • Lead improvements in platform reliability, cost optimisation, and observability
  • Establish DevOps standards, documentation, and training for others
  • Be a core contributor to platform and infrastructure roadmap planning
  • Key Goals & Objectives :

  • Ensure infrastructure is secure, scalable, and cost-efficient in Azure
  • Improve system reliability through automation, observability, and alerting
  • Increase engineering velocity by optimising CI / CD pipelines
  • Enable and mentor engineers across the org on DevOps best practices
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure using IaC tools
  • Build and refine CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Troubleshoot production systems with Elastic Cloud tooling
  • Collaborate with developers to streamline infrastructure and release processes
  • Implement security, compliance, and performance best practices
  • Drive containerisation strategy using Azure Container Apps
  • Contribute to planning and technical strategy around scalability and reliability
  • Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 3–6+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Engineering roles
  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure (Container Apps, Service Bus, Blob Storage, App Gateway, Redis, SQL Server)
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools
  • CI / CD experience (ideally with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with IaC using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • Understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity
  • Proficiency in using Elastic Cloud (Elasticsearch, Kibana) for monitoring
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Desirable (Nice to Have) :
  • GitOps experience with Flux or ArgoCD
  • Experience with Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • FinOps or cloud cost management practices
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-400)
