Job description

Are you passionate about food and ready to take your first step into the world of a professional kitchen? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join our team at Holiday Inn Express Stansted Airport.

What you’ll be doing as a Commis Chef

  • Preparing food for a variety of dishes according to specifications to ensure high standards are maintained by your Head Chef and Sous Chef.
  • Supporting the kitchen team to ensure efficiency and quality in food preparation.
  • Keeping Chef stations well-stocked throughout service.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and work stations to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Learning from and assisting your Chef de Partie.
  • Delivering high standards of food quality and adhering to health and safety regulations.

What’ll make you a great fit for this Commis Chef role

  • Experience as a Line Chef, Cook, or Prep Cook in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge.
  • Understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Flexible, focused, and able to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and hardworking with a positive attitude.
