The Opportunity
Calm and professional, our Senior Funeral Operatives play a vital role in our service and are often the first members of the team to meet our families. A good Senior Funeral Service Operative will be able to provide reassurance to families that we will take good care of their loved ones whilst we prepare them for their final journey.
As the logistical lead within our team, the successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating funeral service logistics, including vehicle scheduling, staff deployment, and ceremonial planning. You will work closely with Funeral Directors to ensure every aspect of each service is meticulously organised and delivered with professionalism and dignity.
In addition to bringing people's loved ones into our care, Senior Funeral Service Operatives play an active role behind the scenes, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, and dressing the deceased; as well as participating in funeral services, pallbearing, and helping to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Being a Senior Funeral Service Operative can be challenging and rewarding, and no two days are quite the same. It can also be an opportunity to progress into a career as a Funeral Director if you have the determination to do so. We look for people who are; ideally well experienced within the funeral industry, committed to client service excellence, has high standards in appearance and their work, strong organisational skills, a good communicator and team player, looks for new ideas and shares best practise, is flexible and reliable- be the ‘go to’ person.
Typical duties for this role are :
Your duties will include driving company vehicles, so you'll need a full driving licence. You'll also have a place on the out of hours, and on-call rota, which will provide an opportunity to earn additional payments.

About You
Strong experience in diary coordination or operational logistics is essential, as this role requires excellent attention to detail, confident communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under time-sensitive conditions.
