Job description

Excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join us on an FTC for 7 months.

  • You will join a modern and well-equipped Small Animal GP RCVS Accredited practice, with silver awards in both ISFM and RWAF, established since 2018.
  • This role is ideally for 30 hours a week, working 3 long days. We are open to discussing different arrangements to accommodate your needs. The role includes 1 in 5 Saturdays.
  • No OOHs or on-call duties.
  • Join a supportive team of 5 Vets, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 VCA, and 4 CCAs.
  • Enjoy excellent CPD allowance and benefits. Certificates and CPD are funded and actively encouraged.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience required; must be comfortable with sole charge.
  • Locally owned and operated, with support from Vets for Pets.
  • Competitive salary based on experience.

About Us

East Kilbride Vets4Pets opened in 2018. Our joint venture partners are Lorna Green RVN CertVNECC NCert(Anaesth) and Jennifer Laming RVN CertVNES. We have a team of 3 full-time and 2 part-time Vets with diverse experience, including recent certification in medicine. Our nursing team includes 4 experienced nurses and 2 student nurses, all engaged in Schedule 3 duties. We also have a dedicated client care team and participate in training programs for vet and nursing students.

Our practice is RCVS Accredited, with a diverse caseload including dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals. We have full in-house lab facilities, digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, and dedicated wards.

The surgery is located within the Pets At Home store at East Kilbride Retail Park, with easy access from Glasgow and surrounding areas.

We are committed to providing gold-standard pet care and keeping up-to-date with surgical and medical advancements.

About You

The ideal candidate will have strong consulting, surgical, and medical skills, with some emergency surgery experience. You should be confident working sole charge, especially during weekends.
