Job description

We are currently seeking a Gearbox Technician to join our clients experienced team in Sheffield. This role involves the removal and refitting of manual and automatic gearboxes and final drive systems. If experienced, you will also carry out vehicle diagnostics using industry-standard tools and your own expertise to identify faults and solutions.

Gearbox Technician :

  • Location : Sheffield
  • Salary : 40 to 45k DOE
  • Job Type : Full-Time, permanent
  • Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 7 : 30am - 4 : 30pm
  • Company pension

Gearbox Technician Responsibilities :

  • Removing and refitting transmissions and drive train systems
  • Performing diagnostic checks and road tests
  • Preparing the workshop each morning and securing vehicles at close
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work space
  • Liaising with the office and workshop team
  • Accurately following job sheets and instructions

    • Gearbox Technician Criteria :

  • Previous experience of working as a Drive Train Fitter - preferred but not essential
  • Experience as a Semi-Skilled Vehicle Mechanic - Minimum 5 years essential
