Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Fabric & Trims Manager located in London. The role will involve managing fabric and trims inventory, sourcing new materials, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring quality control of fabrics and trims used in production.
- Collaborate with designers to translate creative concepts into physical textiles.
- Research and source new fabrics, from mills and suppliers globally.
- Build and maintain relationships with luxury mills, weavers, and suppliers.
- Negotiate lead times, minimum order quantities, and costs while upholding luxury quality standards.
- Sourcing new supplier for raw materials and trims.
Quality Control & Testing
Perform quality checks on fabrics for durability, hand feel, and colour accuracy.Working closely with head of atelier to ensure textiles meet performance standards for couture clients.Address and troubleshoot issues such as shrinkage, pilling, and dye consistency.In depth knowledge and experience of sourcing couture fabrics.Act as a link between designer and atelier, ensuring fabrics align with design sketches and client’s request.Assist with material costing and provide insights into budgetary constraints during the design phase.Prepare and distribute fabric swatch.Generate fabric and trims critical path.Excellent negotiation skills and supplier relationship management.Strong budget management skills and excellent attention to detail.3-5+ years of experience in luxury sector of fabrics and trims.Hours and Environment
Your normal working week will be 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. You will be asked to work additional hours paid at the agreed rate of contract. You will be working in a shared studio space with access to free parking dependent on availability.The successful candidate will have prior experience in fabric sourcing in luxury sector, be immediately available and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
