Job Overview :

Newcastle City Council is seeking a skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join the Children in Care and Care Leavers Team . This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of looked-after children and young people transitioning out of care. The successful candidate will carry out statutory duties under the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation, working within a multi-disciplinary team to support children and young people in care and those preparing for independence.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage a caseload of children and young people who are looked after or care leavers, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.

Develop and implement care and pathway plans that reflect the young person's views and are reviewed regularly in line with statutory requirements.
