Responsibilities include :
- Reviewing and interpreting patient orders, inputting prescriptions, and checking for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Resolving medication issues and ensuring adequate medication stock.
- Complying with all relevant regulations and maintaining proper records.
- Communicating with patients, healthcare providers, and team members to ensure proper medication use and patient education.
- Managing pharmacy workflow, troubleshooting system issues, and seeking business expansion opportunities.
- Staying updated with pharmacy trends and medication therapies.
- Providing patient counseling, addressing concerns, and referring unresolved issues to supervisors.
- Supervising pharmacy support staff and maintaining proficiency with pharmacy systems and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations, including third-party billing and 340B regulations.
- Supervising specific programs such as meds to beds, specialty medications, and long-term care pharmacy services.
- Completing necessary reports and documentation.
- Qualifications include a BSc in Pharmacy or PharmD, Massachusetts pharmacist license, BLS certification within one year, and relevant experience or new graduate status.
- Additional certifications such as Medication Therapy Management and Immunization are required within specified timeframes.
