Job Description

Introduction

Our Client’s practice in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a surgically biased Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing and talented team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet looking to develop their surgical expertise while benefiting from excellent clinical support and access to advanced diagnostic equipment. The practice is led by an experienced Branch Partner with a strong interest in dentistry and orthopaedics, ensuring a collaborative and progressive clinical environment.

Working Hours / Rota

This is a full-time position. However, the practice is open to flexible discussions regarding full-time and part-time hours, making it ideal for those seeking a tailored work-life balance.

Role Description

This role offers a busy and varied caseload, including both medical and surgical responsibilities. You will deliver outstanding patient care, engage with clients effectively, and contribute to the ongoing development of your team. You will also prepare treatment plans, ensure compliance with professional standards, and participate in clinical best practice across the wider network. The position is ideal for a candidate ready to take the next step in their career, with opportunities for mentoring and progression.

Team Size

You will work alongside an experienced and supportive team, including a Branch Partner with surgical expertise, a Head RVN, and a Practice Manager. The team fosters a collaborative environment, offering mentorship and encouraging professional development.

Practice Details

The practice is well-equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, in-house blood analysers, and ultrasound. Through a hub and spoke model, the team also has access to advanced diagnostics at a nearby 24-hour hospital, including a multi-parameter monitor, CT scanner, endoscope, and laparoscopic kit. The practice is also actively working towards ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic registration.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical bias and a passion for delivering exceptional care. They should have strong teamwork and leadership capabilities, experience with clinical compliance, and a proactive approach to supporting nurse consultations and schedule 3 procedures. A background in mentoring and a drive to maintain a progressive clinical culture are advantageous.
