Job description

Are you an experienced Engineer looking for a new challenge? Look no further! Valeo Foods UK, a manufacturer of some of the UK’s best loved snacks and confectionery, is seeking a new team member!

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across site equipment.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective tasks using the CMMS system.
  • Support production teams with technical expertise during breakdowns and changeovers.
  • Maintain compliance with site standards including PSSR, LOLER, Legionella, and GMP.
  • Monitor and manage utilities including boilers, compressors, and effluent systems.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
  • Liaise with contractors and issue permits to work (PTW) as required.
  • Record accurate maintenance data and complete documentation to audit-ready standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Support and mentor apprentices and junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Engineering Qualification (e.g., HNC, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or above).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) qualified.
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
  • Strong fault-finding skills in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Familiarity with compliance systems (e.g., PPMs, risk assessments, water testing).
  • Computer literate (CMMS, Microsoft Office).

    • Additional Information

    Salary : up to £47,000

    Hours : Rotating shifts Monday to Friday, including days (06 : 00–14 : 00) and afternoons (14 : 00–22 : 00), plus alternate Saturdays (4 hours).
