Greenspring Montessori School is seeking a Student Support Coordinator and Tutor to work with students in need of extra support and to help support the school’s efforts centered around Equity and Inclusion as related to learning differences, disabilities, and a wide range of neurotypes.
Strong organizational and data analysis skills are required. This role requires a thorough observer and data-informed practitioner, dedicated to honoring the learning journeys of a wide range of students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES related to the Coordinator position :
Work directly and in collaboration with the Director of Student Support in all endeavors : to discuss student progress, receive coaching, expand the impact of the Student Support department, bring relevant and enriching content to team members, etc.Conduct student observations in classroomsRespond to Student Support calls; document intervention; engage in relevant follow-upWork with a child’s educational team to suggest and support implementation of accommodationsCreate student-specific work, such as : visual timelines, graphic organizers, note catchers, outlines, etc.Identify and improve the structural systems of school in order for them to better support student needsAdministrative management of student support plans and tutoring caseload : Schedule annual review meetings with Guides and family members, prep Student Support Plans in preparation of meetings, create and update caseload documentsAttend Student Support meetings and contribute relevant information to the Student Support Plans through observation, expert communication, and collaboration with a child’s educational team.Coordinate the schedule and serve as a Greenspring liaison with all outside providers including Special Education teachers, Speech Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, etc.Coordinate and complete reading assessments for all students K-8th grade utilizing the Fountas and Pinnell assessment kit, in-house screenings, and Phonographix materialsPlan, schedule, and oversee the standardized testing in the fall and spring (currently using a combination of internally-created assessments and EasyCBM benchmark assessment); set testing dates, communicate information to Guides and families, mail testing results to each family no more than one week after testing is complete.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES related to the Tutoring position :
Support learning experiences in accordance with authentic Montessori philosophy and practicePlan, create, and deliver Reading tutoring sessions to students both independently or in small groups; utilize a structured, multi-sensory approach that is designed to increase phonological skills, reinforce the alphabetic code, and that sequentially builds reading and vocabulary skills.Plan, create, and deliver Math tutoring sessions to students both independently or in small groups.Follow each student’s individualized Student Support Plan as a guide for tutoring sessions.Collaborate with and support all staff to effectively meet the needs of students you are tutoring; join parent-Guide conferences as often as necessary.Communicate with parents regularly via email, phone, and in person conversations and consistently provide follow-up activities for home to support tutoring work.Keep accurate and updated records on individual students’ progress for all students you are tutoring.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This position is a 10-month, full time position of 40 hours per week during the academic school year from mid August to mid June. The position is Monday – Friday from 8 : 00am – 4 : 00pm with some Thursdays running through 5pm.
The Student Support Coordinator / Tutor reports to the Director of Student Support. Planning, parent communications, and meetings can be done during contracted working hours on campus.
The salary is $43,000 – $50,000 a year, commensurate with experience. Benefits for full-time employees include health, dental, paid sick days and holidays, and partial tuition remission for qualified dependents. Summer opportunities for part-time tutoring hours are also available for additional salary.
