People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Junior Maintenance Engineer to join our well-established client based in East Kilbride on a full-time permanent basis.

Day to Day Duties

  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment within a busy manufacturing facility in East Kilbride
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing machinery to minimise downtime
  • Working with experienced engineers on planned maintenance and reactive breakdowns
  • Travelling to customer sites across the UK and Ireland (approximately once every six weeks), including occasional overnight stays
  • Supporting process improvements and ensuring equipment runs efficiently and safely
  • Maintaining accurate records of work carried out
  • Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled)
  • Strong hands-on, practical ability — confident using tools and fixing mechanical / electrical equipment
  • Interest in how things work — you may enjoy working on your car, dismantling electronics, or DIY projects
  • Understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles
  • Willingness to travel and stay away overnight occasionally
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn, and not afraid to get your hands dirty
  • Previous experience in a maintenance, service, or production engineering role (e.g., placement year or summer job)
  • Familiarity with fault-finding techniques and basic electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices in an industrial environment
  • Training
