Job description

Hanningfield is a family-run engineering company, specializing in the design and manufacture of powder process equipment for the pharmaceutical industry.

We are expanding rapidly during an exciting growth period and are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team.

Job Description : Pre-Installation

  • Preparatory assembly activities in production and support of customer acceptance tests.
  • Involvement in factory electrical and mechanical testing of the system (FAT), to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Undertaking surveys and attending meetings to confirm site utilizes, customer expectation and any permits / inductions required.

Installation and Start-Up

  • Mechanical assembly, installation and commissioning of our pharmaceutical machines and systems worldwide.
  • Electrical commissioning of PLC programs for control panels, primarily using Siemens (TIA Portal, LOGO!) and Allen-Bradley.
  • Setting VFDs, basic pneumatics, running cables.
  • Setting up Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) devices such as sensors and controllers, and integrating with existing on-site equipment.

    • Commissioning

  • Setup the equipment to meet the customer’s requirements. May include running product through machine to set timers / sequences and overcome any initial troubleshooting.

    • Operator Training

  • Train operators in the usage and maintenance of our machines.
  • Issue certificates to individuals.

    • Troubleshooting and Support

  • Responding to customer faults and breakdowns.
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of the machines at our customer site.
  • Remote support.

    • Maintenance

  • Undertaking servicing and maintenance of machines, sometimes ad-hoc and sometimes to a pre-determined schedule.

    • Documentation

  • Completion of sign-off documents with customer to confirm machine acceptance and meeting of performance criteria.

    • Travel

  • Willingness to travel regularly for on-site commissioning and support, both domestically and internationally.

  • Hours : Monday to Friday on-site @ SS4 1LB Plus Site Work
