Social Worker - Children with Disabilities (CWD) Service

Location : Woking, Surrey (Victoria Gate, GU21 6JD)

Contract : Full-time, Permanent, 36 Hours per week

Hybrid working : 2 days in the office per week

Salary : £40,929 - £43,735 + (£6,000 Retention Payment & Up to £8,000 Relocation)

Are you a passionate, relationship-driven social worker looking to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and young people with disabilities?

Surrey County Council is seeking a Social Worker to join the specialist Children with Disabilities (CWD) Service based at Victoria Gate in Woking . You'll work within Surrey's Family Safeguarding Model , which brings together professionals from across adult services and children's social care to provide joined-up, holistic support for families.

This is a meaningful role where your work will directly influence the independence, safety, and wellbeing of children with additional needs.

About the role

You'll manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities, carrying out strength-based assessments, developing support plans, and working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to create positive change.

You'll also support safeguarding and care planning processes, navigating complexity with confidence while keeping the child at the centre of everything you do. Based in our modern Woking office, you'll be part of a supportive team culture that values reflective practice and development.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of children with additional and complex needs

Undertake child and family assessments, risk assessments, and care planning

Work collaboratively with partners including education, health, and adult services

Contribute to multi-agency meetings and statutory safeguarding processes

Build meaningful, empowering relationships with families

Maintain accurate and timely records using Liquid Logic

What we're looking for

n \n

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England

Experience in children's services (ideally including disability or additional needs work)

Confident in assessment, planning and relationship-based practice

Emotionally intelligent, adaptable and passionate about improving outcomes

Full UK driving licence and access to a car
