Craft Trainer

Dealain House, Napier Road, Wardpark, Cumbernauld. G68 0DF (with travel to other ScottishPower site locations depending on training demand)

Salary from £44,000 with 10% Annual Bonus and Single Person Healthcare

We currently require an experienced distribution fitter (LV to 33kV) to carry out a training role, passing on their knowledge and experience to the next generation of trainees and apprentices.

This role is a technical training role to deliver a range of craft skills across the different business units, focussing primarily on electrical distribution fitting events.

You will deliver initial / refresher training courses as part of your duties which will fully support each operating plan within the business. You will work as part of a training group to develop their own skills to ensure that all training activities are carried out to a high level, in terms of both quality and safety whilst ensuring low cost and best value for the business / customer.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive support in relation to all technical training need analysis

Development of training plans, delivery and evaluation for internal and external customers

Provide support to the business with regard to specific products and technique development

Support the design, development and delivery of operational safety programmes

Ensure compliance with of each individual business and Health & Safety legislation

Monitor / Review all training delivery methods to ensure quality and compliance with standards

Ensure training objectives are achieved

Ensure the effective utilisation of the varied training / learning solutions available.

What you'll bring

Previous experience as a recognised fitting craftsmen covering switchgear installation, plant maintenance & protection systems

Knowledge of the fundamental business processes within ScottishPower

Knowledge of engineering standards, specifications, working practice and constraints

An understanding company electrical authorisation policies and procedures

MINIMUM CRITERIA

Electrical fitting experience on distribution networks is essential for the role

Knowledge, understanding and ability / confidence to deliveranumber of craftandtechnical courses to a wide range of staff required to work safely within the electricity supply industry

Demonstrate knowledge and practical skills to deliver training and assess delegates (internal & external) to SP company and industry standards

Preferred PC skills - Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Full valid driving licence
