Flood Risk Engineer

A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for an Assistant Engineer – Flood Risk Management to join their Highways Network Management team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a flood risk or highways environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to provide technical consultancy within the Flood Risk Management team, delivering high-quality responses to planning applications, supporting the delivery of flood mitigation projects, and maintaining accurate asset and GIS data. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to :

• Assessing planning applications for minor developments with regard to flood risk and drainage
• Supporting maintenance and updates of the GIS flood asset register
• Assisting with the delivery of capital-funded flood mitigation projects
• Providing support to the wider team in flood risk enquiries and partnership work with risk management authorities The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require :
• ONC / OND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or relevant industry experience
