Function of Department
The Finance function’s role is to provide a complete accounting and financial management service to enable the Board and Management to meet statutory requirements and exercise effective financial control over the Crown Agents businesses.
Job Purpose
Seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Systems & Reporting to lead the management and development of our finance systems and reporting. This role will be critical in overseeing the creation of new financial reports and ensuring the smooth operation and integration of various systems. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a strong background in data analysis and have considerable proficiency in accounting and IT systems, including SUN and CRM.
Reports to Deputy Finance Director.
Job Purpose
To support the DFD in the development of the finance function, with specific focus on finance systems, reporting and processes. Support all stakeholders to contribute towards, and benefit from, positive changes and efficiencies derived from the finance improvements across the business.
Management Reporting
- Lead the design, development and implementation of financial reports to support business decision-making.
- Support delivery of accurate and timely financial reports in line with the published timetable set.
- Develop and maintain the suite of financial reports to ensure that all financial information can be acquired efficiently and displayed effectively in line with the Group’s timetable.
System Management
Lead the management and maintenance of finance systems, ensuring they are up-to-date, secure, and efficient.Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of financial data across all systems.Ensure all systems and reporting practices comply with relevant regulations and standards.Coordinate and manage projects related to system upgrades, data migration, and reporting.Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Develop and improve the quality of accounting through implementation of new policies and procedures.Training & Support
Provide training and support to end-users to maximize system utilization and reporting capabilities.Provide technical support, adding value through the provision of financial and non-financial information.Team
Manage and mentor a team of 2 system support officers.Ensure team members maintain appropriate levels of technical competence and compliance with internal operating and control procedures.General
Work closely with finance, IT, and other departments to understand reporting needs and ensure systems meet business requirements.Support implementation of best practice processes and continually seek opportunities to innovate and improve performance.Undertake any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures.Comply with Company Health and Safety policies and legislation in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.Be aware of and adhere to company quality standards and procedures in accordance with Crown Agent’s commitment to working to the highest quality standards and striving for continual improvement.About you
Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMATypically, 5-7 years of post-qualification experience with a strong background in financial reporting and data analysis.Experience with people management responsibilities.Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (SUN, Q&A11, CRM,) with a strong understanding of database management and data warehousing.
