Key Responsibilities – Chef de Partie

As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen and ensuring the preparation of high-quality food. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

Section Management

  • Take ownership of a specific kitchen section, ensuring the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes meet premium quality standards.
  • Maintain consistency in flavour, texture, and presentation in every dish served.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Guide, mentor, and support junior team members, including Commis and Demi Chefs.
  • Provide hands-on training and share best practices to elevate kitchen performance and food safety.
  • Quality Assurance

  • Conduct final checks on all dishes leaving your section to ensure they meet taste, presentation, and portioning standards.
  • Uphold the kitchen’s commitment to excellence in every dish served.
  • Food Preparation & Culinary Execution

  • Prepare and cook dishes to perfection, following set recipes while upholding creativity and efficiency.
  • Ensure all ingredients are accurately portioned and stored according to food hygiene standards.
  • Kitchen & Hygiene Maintenance

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workstation in line with food safety regulations.
  • Use kitchen equipment responsibly and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Inventory & Stock Control

  • Monitor stock levels in your section and communicate shortages or needs to the Sous or Head Chef.
  • Ensure freshness and minimise waste through effective inventory rotation and portion control.
  • Menu Innovation & Development

  • Collaborate with senior chefs to develop and test new menu items.
  • Contribute creative ideas for seasonal offerings and improvements to existing dishes.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the entire kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
  • Participate in daily briefings and contribute to a supportive, high-performance kitchen environment.
  • Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role in a professional kitchen.
  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Culinary certification or relevant training is a plus.
  • Preferred Background :

    We welcome candidates with experience in high-volume or fine dining establishments, as well as those with a passion for continuous learning and development in the culinary field.
