Job Description

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for providing specialist health and safety support and guidance to the operational business whilst working closely with other functions, including HR, Business Excellence and other Business Stakeholders in the UK.

As the Health and Safety Manager, you will be capable of the following key activities :

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful implementation and operation of the H&S management systems.
• Support the overall strategy of continuous improvement for health and safety initiatives.
• Develop and implement various programmes necessary to meet the health and safety goals.
• Provide expertise, strategic leadership, training and support for various testing facilities and departments.
• Ensure legal requirements and risks are identified and understood at a leadership and local level.
• Provide support for the evaluation of training needs, development and the delivery of training.
• Support high potential incident investigations, providing detailed feedback of findings and advice in a manner which enhances the company capability.
• Further improve performance through the implementation of health andsafety management systems, including ISO 45001, and other current standards and legislation.
• Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming health and safety legislation and ensure that the systems and procedures in place meet legal compliance.
• Work proactively with managers and other key colleagues to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of health, safety and wellbeing within their areas of responsibility.
• Oversee and undertake audits where appropriate and ensure an action plan with SMART objectives is established to address issues identified.
• Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times.
