Our org structure is composed of cross-functional teams each with a distinct area of focus to keep us all working on the most impactful things for our customers all of the time. Some of our team members work across multiple pods. Our structure was conceived with impact autonomy and velocity in mind and wed love to share more with you throughout our interview process. Your manager Daniele Tassone - Technical Director (Product Engineering) will develop your skills and enable you to deliver on the project mission.

This is what youll be doing

As a Senior Python Engineer at Genie AI youll be joining us in a dynamic stage of our growth so youll face lots of different challenges. Youll get the chance to immerse yourself within the world of law legal contracts and AI at a start-up that is genuinely ML-centred. In a fully engineering based role some of your key day to day duties will include :

Work closely with product manager tech lead designers and other engineers to define product requirements

Productionising AI features using Docker and microservices

Taking architectural ownership for various critical components & systems : such as building API endpoints to different microservices and implementing a big data software architecture to process large amounts of data

Writing clean efficient thoroughly tested code : backed-up with pair programming and code reviews

Taking ownership of monitoring and observability for our LLM systems

Exploring & evaluating new technologies frameworks and tools

Deploying on cloud computing platforms like AWS & GCP

Over your first 90 days you can expect us to help point you in the right direction to set you up for success. During the interview process we can talk you through a high level overview of your 90 day plan.

By the end of your first two months we expect you to be :

Have a clear understanding of and fully embrace our engineering work culture

Be actively contributing to delivering impactful features and solutions that align with the Genie roadmap and drive value

Fully understand and expertly own Genie python code

Well continually develop and measure success on the below criteria :

Product-engineering mindset

Understanding and ownership of our current codebase

Efficiency of interfacing with our product manager designers backend frontend and ML team and translating research code into production

You should expect to work with us on how your role develops grows and changes throughout your time at Genie.

This role sits between our engineering and ML teams so it can be challenging to effectively straddle two areas

We are inventing a new product so youll be involved in the product refinement sessions
