Sheffield (Hybrid)

They design, build, and operate cutting-edge district heating systems, working with local authorities and developers to create sustainable solutions for towns and cities. As an Electrical Design Engineer with our client, you'll play a key role in designing electrical systems for large-scale heat networks, from concept through to operation. This isn't just another design job-you'll "own" projects, refine solutions based on real-world feedback, and collaborate across teams to deliver bespoke energy solutions. With hybrid working and site visits across the UK, you'll enjoy variety, growth, and the chance to innovate in a rapidly expanding sector.

You're a proactive, detail-oriented engineer with a passion for sustainable energy and a knack for problem-solving. With experience in electrical building services and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Dialux, you thrive in dynamic teams and love pushing boundaries. The Role

  • Design electrical systems for heat networks, from feasibility to construction.
  • Produce detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage third-party designs.
  • Conduct site surveys and optioneering studies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards while innovating for efficiency.

The Person

  • A qualified Electrical Engineer (BEng) with design experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical modelling tools.
  • A problem-solver who questions conventional methods.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
