Job description

Join our Clean Water (Hydraulic) Modelling Team and work on a prestigious SR21 Technical Consultancy Framework driven by Scottish Water . The role involves utilising, maintaining, and constructing their hydraulic modelling library.

We are seeking hydraulic modellers at all levels to support water programmes in areas such as optioneering, outline / detailed design, and asset condition assessment.

You will collaborate with a skilled hydraulic team to support our design team, conduct zonal studies, and develop solutions for water engineering projects. This work will continue into SR27 and beyond, securing your career for the future.

About You :

As a key member of our Water Consultancy, your role as a Hydraulic Modeller is vital in delivering excellent projects for our clients. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team on various capital delivery projects.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Technical development and delivery of clean water modelling projects, including scoping, model building, maintenance, zonal and growth studies, and design support.
  • Preparing technical and analytical reports.
  • Working within multidisciplinary teams to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Providing technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Ensuring quality and compliance with client specifications.
  • Adhering to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience :

  • Expertise in water engineering and network analysis, delivering complex projects that meet standards and quality expectations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and guide less experienced colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems (MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Experience with InfoWorks WS Pro, Synergi, or similar water modelling tools.
  • Coding skills (Ruby, Python) are desirable but not essential.
  • Qualifications :

  • A degree in a relevant technical field; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • A full clean driving licence, as travel to sites and offices may be required.
