LN19715 | Category Buyer | Full time | 6 Months Temporary | Wakefield | £300 - £350pd (inside IR35)
Client :
Castlefield are working with a public sector organisation as they look to recruit a Category Buyer. The position will be a 6 month temporary contract to deliver several procurements via further competitions or direct awards within the Food category area.
Duties will include :
- To work co-operatively with colleagues to ensure that the function operates consistently and effectively in the implementation and application of all departmental procedures and policies
- Define and implement a framework / contractual model across in line with Category objectives
- Ensure that sufficient ‘tension’ is created in the sourcing and contract negotiation process to achieve best value pricing and terms
- Work with the Category Managers or Head of Trading to ensure that effective systems are in place to manage, develop, monitor, evaluate and review performance within the product area ensuring that processes and systems integrate effectively with other functions as needed.
