Eden Scott Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to be supporting a well-known Scottish not-for-profit in their search to appoint a Finance Business Partner on a full-time, hybrid and permanent basis within their Central Edinburgh offices.
This long-established Scottish organisation have been providing care, support, and education for disabled individuals across all age groups. With multiple service locations and specialist schools, it focuses on promoting independence, inclusion, and equal opportunities.
Reporting into the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive financial support to senior management across key departments and operations. Key duties within this role will surround :
- Preparing detailed monthly management accounts, annual forecasts, and supports year-end statutory reporting in line with regulatory requirements
- Overseeing ledger integrity through journal postings, reconciliations, variance analysis, and cross-functional data consolidation from services and fundraising
- Advising budget holders, assists with drafting departmental budgets, and contributes to funding proposals, tenders, and service costings
- Managing statutory submissions including VAT, Gift Aid, and financial returns for funders, while responding to data requests with accurate reporting
- Supporting the production of annual accounts in accordance with SORP, liaising with external auditors and compiling technical disclosures and schedules
- Maintaining and reconciles the fixed asset register, calculating depreciation and preparing reports for both internal monitoring and statutory inclusion
- Leading or supporting improvements to financial systems and processes, coordinating with software providers and internal users to optimise functionality
- Delivering financial training and guidance to non-finance staff, enabling better financial awareness and decision-making at all levels
- Acting as a key point of contact in the Head of Finance's absence, ensuring continuity in financial operations, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement
