An established supplier with access to its own manufacturing is seeking a talented Menswear Designer with a passion for tailoring to design and develop innovative, commercial ranges of formal and soft tailoring for key retailers and e-tailers.
Menswear Designer – Formal & Soft Tailoring – The Role :
- Design seasonal and trend-led in-house collections in line with customer design aesthetic
- Identify emerging trends and potential gaps in the customer product range, capitalise on gaps by proposing appropriate fabrics and styling options
- Work closely with in-house account management teams to provide customers with continuous and excellent service and help the business progress
- Carry out fabric and trend research on an ongoing basis, present findings to in-house teams and customers
- Extensive fabric and trim sourcing according to customer briefs and emerging trends
- Preparing and leading customer development days, and actioning development samples according to brief
- Raising and updating design tech packs and checking samples against them.
- Managing developments, working closely with suppliers and production sites, regularly updating customers on sample progress through sample trackers and ensuring samples are delivered in time for range build and sign off meetings
- Liaising daily with mills, factories and customer buying teams, establishing close professional relationships on all sides
Menswear Designer - Formal & Soft Tailoring –– Required Skills & Experience :
Educated to degree standard.At least 5 years' relevant experience in menswear design, in particular formalwear, soft tailoring, jackets, trousers, shirting, etc., and working with fast fashion retailersHighly proficient with Illustrator and Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication and presentation skills.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.A confident, proactive approach capable of working effectively in a team under pressure in a demanding fast-paced environmentAbility to interact effectively with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.full right to work” in the UK (we are unable to assist with sponsorship)
